Gross Leak Tester – ToronMed-GLT02 is designed to detect gross leaks in sterile medical device packaging using the positive pressure method (bubble test). Beyond gross leak testing, it can also be applied to seal strength, burst pressure, creep-to-failure, compression resistance, torsion force, and joint/disengaging force evaluations across a variety of flexible packages, aseptic packaging, tamper-evident closures, tubes, caps, blister packs, and aerosol valves. This versatile instrument ensures packaging integrity and compliance with international standards.
Test Principle
The Gross Leak Tester applies internal pressurization to the packaging under test. Depending on the selected mode, it evaluates packaging strength and sealing performance:
- Burst Test – Maximum burst pressure until package failure
- Creep Test – Pressure drop over time
- Creep-to-Failure Test – Time to failure at a set pressure
- Pressure Maintenance Test – Package holds specified pressure over time
- Gross Leak Test – Bubble test for major leaks
