Wet-resistant Bacterial Penetration Tester
Wet-resistant Bacterial Penetration Tester ToronFM-WRBPT designed to evaluate how effectively a material resists bacterial penetration in liquids under mechanical friction. This device assesses the material's ability to block bacterial intrusion during frictional contact in a controlled chamber. Common applications include testing surgical gowns, medical apparel, and cleanroom garments
Standards

- YY/T 0506.6-2009 operating orders, operating gowns and cleaning garments for medical personnel and instruments - part 6: test methods for the penetration of wet-resistant microorganisms.
Principle
The specimen was placed on an agar plate, followed by a fungus plate of the same size positioned on top. A high-density polyethylene film, approximately 10 microns thick, was then placed over the fungus plate. These three layers (with the test material at the bottom, the fungus plate in the middle, and the polyethylene film on top) were secured using a tapered steel ring.
The test involved subjecting the material to controlled movement across the surface of the petri dish, exposing it to combined pressure and friction. This simulation replicates real-world conditions where barrier materials face microbial penetration under wet environments.
During testing, microbes from the fungal plate penetrated the specimen and migrated to the surface of the agar medium. Colony counting was performed to quantitatively evaluate the material’s resistance to microbial penetration.
